I'm New Here

Your first visit to any church can feel a bit like a first date: both exciting and awkward at the same time.  It's normal to feel that way, so don't worry about it. First visits are first steps, it takes time and more visits to get to know any church, we hope you'll come back again and again to really get to know us.

Here some answers to help you get familiar with WGUMC:

1.
What are the worship services like?
2.
Who are the pastors?
3.
What about my children?
4.
How do I get to the church?
5.
What should I wear?

1. What are the worship services like?

On Sunday, May 16th, we will begin live-streaming worship services at 10:00am. View live-stream services here

Beginning Pentecost Sunday, May 23rd, we will re-open to in-person worship (numbers limited) with pre-registration available 7 days prior to the service.  In addition, please see and follow our covid Health and Safety Protocols here.  We will continue to live-stream weekly worship services.

Sunday morning Worship Services are held at 10:00am.
We work hard to make sure every weekend service is creative and relevant to your life. You can park in our campus lot off of Minnesota Avenue or the adjoining lot with the entrance on Newport Avenue. If it is your first time with us, we reserve a few spots in the Newport lot just for you--please take one!  Enter through the main doors facing Newport Avenue.

During the covid shut-down, we created online video worship services. You may view prior services on our YouTube Channel.

2. Who are the pastors?

Rev. Jaekuk Jo is our Senior Pastor, and Susan Grace Smith is our Pastor of Children and Family Ministries.
Click here to see them and get to know their backgrounds.

3. What about my children?

We encourage families to attend worship together so while you're in worship, your children will stay with you for the entire service at this time.  (Sunday School for children will resume at some point in the future.) Susan Grace Smith is our Pastor of Children and Family Ministries. Click here to see our pastors and read about their backgrounds.

4. How do I get to the church?

Service goes from 10:00AM until around 11:00AM. Click here for directions.

5. What should I wear?

Some people come dressed in jeans and t-shirts while others come dressed business casual. If you prefer to wear a tie or a dress, that's fine too. We want you to feel comfortable while we experience worship together.

We would love to see you soon!
